Faculty of Management Studies - FMS

General Information

FMS MBA entrance exam is an MBA Entrance Exam conducted by the Faculty of Management Studies for admission into its 2 year MBA programmes. The sections tested are Quantitative ability, Verbal ability, English comprehension, Analytical ability & Logical Reasoning numbering to 175 questions to be complted within a two hour duration.

Eligibility Criteria

FMS Eligibility Criteria: FMS MBA Full Time

Candidates applying for admission to the first year of MBA (Full-Time) Programme must have pursued at least a 3-year Bachelor's Degree Programme after 12 years of formal schooling in any of the following disciplines.
The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows :-
Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences - 50%,
Sciences - 55%,
Mathematics or Statistics - 60%,
Medicine, Engineering or Technology - 60% / CGPA of at least 6.00 in a scale of 10.00 OR
Post Graduate Degree or 2nd Degree examination after 10+2+3 scheme, securing at least 60% marks.
Candidates appearing for the final examination of Bachelor's / Post Graduate Degree examinations may also apply.
Candidates must be 20 years of age as on 1st of October of the year of admission.
MBA (full-time) has total 90 seats (including 10 for international students)

FMS Eligibility Criteria: MBA part-time
A candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 45 % marks
A minimum of 3 years of work experience as an administrator or an executive in a industrial, commercial or government organization after clearing the Bachelor’s Degree Examination is also essential
A candidate should be sponsored by your present employer in order to be able to apply for FMS

Total number of seats in MBA part-time is 140

Exam Pattern

English Usage section has 35 questions
Reading Comprehension has 40 questions
Analytical and Logical Reasoning has 50 questions
Quantitative Aptitude has 50 questions

Total number of questions in FMS exam is 175

The duration of the FMS test is 120 minutes. There could be minor variations in the pattern of the test.

It is mandatory to score more than 50% marks in every section for you to get a call for the next round. Selection is made on the basis of overall percentage of marks achieved by the students.

Important Dates

* Announcement in major National English Dailies: 05th September, 2010
* Online registration opens on 6th September 2010 and closes on 15th October 2010
* FMS Admissions Office will begin despatching the Entrance Test Admit Cards for MBA (FT) and PhD candidates from the 2nd week of November 2010, and for MBA (PT) and MBA (PT) HCA candidates from the last week of December 2010.
* All candidates applying to any of the FMS programmes are required to send back the acknowledgement form to FMS Office on or before 15th October 2010.
* Admission Test for MBA (FT) and PhD - 5th December 2010
* Admission Test for MBA (PT) and MBA (PT) HCA - 23rd January 2011.
